Turkey’s TRAC was founded in 1962, and amateur radio here proved its worth in the hardest way: after major earthquakes TA operators have repeatedly provided emergency traffic when everything else failed, which earned the hobby real public respect. Straddling two continents, Turkey counts as Asia for DXCC despite Istanbul’s European shore.
