Ukraine has long been one of the strongest amateur radio countries of the region, with a deep contesting tradition and club stations in every oblast. The UT/UR prefixes are regulars in every major CW and SSB contest, and Ukrainian homebrewers have a well-earned reputation for squeezing remarkable performance out of simple circuits.
