The site is alive
UB3BIJ finally has a home on the internet, and it took way longer than the "I'll do it in a weekend" plan.
So this exists now. UB3BIJ has a website. I’ve been saying “I’ll build a site this weekend” for actual weeks and today I finally sat down and did not get up until it was done, which is very on-brand for me honestly.
I didn’t want the boring version — you know, the kind of ham site that’s just a table with your rig specs and a black background from 2003. I wanted it to actually feel like me. So there’s art on here, there’s a bit of attitude, and there’s a logbook that updates itself once I actually import my ADIF instead of me typing every QSO in by hand like some kind of animal.
Things that are still not real yet, in case you’re reading this and wondering: the Telegram link is hidden for now (soon, I promise), and a couple of the little status blocks are placeholders until I fill them with actual numbers. But the bones are here and I’m proud of it.
The one thing I will say a hundred times on this site and I might as well start now: please send me a paper QSL. Even if it wasn’t your plan. I will always send mine back. There’s something about an actual card in an actual envelope that no database row will ever replace.
Alright. Back to refreshing the tracking number for my transceiver, which has been “in transit” for what feels like a geological age.
