Still no transceiver. Still checking the mailbox.
The uSDX+ is somewhere in the postal system, and I have checked the tracking page more times than I want to admit.
Okay I need to talk about this because it’s taking over my brain a little. My uSDX+ has been in transit from China for what feels like several lifetimes now, and I have refreshed the tracking page today alone more times than is reasonable for a grown woman with a website and a NanoVNA and things to do.
It went “left origin country” a while back, then sat in some sorting facility for what the tracker describes as “processing” for days, and I’ve started assigning it a personality at this point. I imagine it’s fine. I imagine it’s having a nice time in a warehouse somewhere. I am not fine, I am checking the mailbox every day like it’s going to magically arrive early if I just want it enough.
The annoying part is I’m actually ready. Antenna’s tuned (thanks, NanoVNA), I’ve got the mic and headphones sitting there looking at me, I even have a spot picked out on the roof for whenever this thing shows up. I just need the actual radio part of my radio hobby to arrive.
In the meantime I’ve been keeping busy — figured out the aviation band, registered the callsign in the places that actually work, built this whole site. Turns out you can do a lot of “getting into radio” without actually having a radio yet, who knew.
Anyway. If you’re reading this and you happen to know something about customs processing times, keep it to yourself, I don’t want to know. I’ll update this the second the box shows up. It’s going to be a whole post. Possibly several.
